Capcom's next update for Monster Hunter Wilds introduces fan-favorite monsters and aims to address performance shortcomings.
Last night, during a showcase livestream, Capcom shared information about the upcoming Title Update for Monster Hunter Wilds, set to launch next week. This update will reintroduce two beloved monsters from previous games, Lagiacrus and Seregios, while also promising significant performance improvements that could restore the game’s reputation that has recently suffered.
Returning Monsters
The update welcomes back Lagiacrus, a lightning-infused serpent first seen in Monster Hunter 3, and Seregios, known for its unique attack patterns and agility. Both will appear as 8-star tempered monsters, providing fresh challenges for skilled players amidst ongoing concerns about the game’s difficulty.
“Lagiacrus is very popular all over the world,” said Ryozo Tsujimoto, the producer of the Monster Hunter series. “People were really hoping for it.”
Translation: This monster has a strong fan base globally, and many players have been eagerly anticipating its return.
The significant focus of this update will be on fixing performance problems that have plagued the game since launch. According to patch notes, adjustments have been made to manage VRAM usage, which is expected to mitigate ongoing performance issues.
“It’s an agile monster that you can enjoy dancing with in battle,” said Yuya Tokuda, the game’s director, emphasizing the design philosophy behind Seregios.
