DayZ is moving forward with its largest map to date, named Badlands, set to release in 2026. This expansive area measures 267x267 km and is situated in the fictional province of Nasdara, part of the ArmA universe.

This new environment will feature a unique blend of Middle Eastern-style cities alongside remnants of Soviet-era military facilities. In contrast to previous expansions like Frostline, which focused on icy landscapes, Badlands promises to deliver a hot and arid atmosphere where players must grapple with severe weather conditions—including intense heat and scarce water supply.

Bohemia Interactive states that the new map will not just offer a larger play area but also introduce a host of new survival challenges. Players will need to conserve resources wisely, as water will be as valuable as ammunition. In addition, expect new types of wildlife and infected entities that are specific to this region.

The developers have indicated that Badlands will also include a variety of new gear, weapons, and clothing tailored to the new map’s harsh environment.
