Closure of Midnight Society Follows Dr Disrespect's Monetization Revival
Midnight Society, co-founded by renowned streamer Dr Disrespect, is shutting down, coinciding with his YouTube channel's remonetization.
Midnight Society to Shut Down
Just months after significant layoffs due to unexpected challenges, Midnight Society, the gaming studio co-founded in 2021 by Guy “Dr Disrespect” Beahm, Robert Bowling, and Quinn Delhoyo, has announced its closure.
In their message, the studio expressed gratitude to its community and deep regret for failing to meet their ultimate goal of game release. The studio had a promising start but faced challenges in the development of their extraction shooter, Deadrop, an initiative initially fueled by NFT sales. Many NFT backers are now questioning the lack of development and are seeking refunds, but the studio has not commented on this issue.
An ironic twist on the closure is that it comes on the same day Dr Disrespect’s YouTube channel was remonetized after being demonetized over controversial exchanges. The situation has led to speculations about the future of the platform after controversies surrounding inappropriate messages from Beahm.
“We express our sincere gratitude to each and every one of our community members and [are] deeply sorry we were unable to reach our ultimate goal.”

For the many followers and community members, this closure marks a bittersweet chapter in the gaming industry as another ambitious project comes to an abrupt end.
