Modders Innovate Pseudo-Settlement System for Oblivion Remastered Without Official Aid

Despite the lack of formal modding support from Bethesda, Oblivion Remastered modders have developed a creative settlement building system reminiscent of Fallout 4.

In June 2025, Oblivion Remastered remains without official modding support from Bethesda, but modders are thriving. They have successfully incorporated a pseudo-settlement system, inspired by Fallout 4. This method, aptly named Oblivion Settlement Building – Spawn and Place Objects, allows players to place items within the game world.

MadAborModding, the modder behind this innovation, has created this system using available game mechanics despite lacking an official creation kit. Players can now manipulate the environment in ways previously not possible, showcasing the creativity and resourcefulness prevalent in the modding community.

Although the current system lacks management features such as trade or inhabitant interactions, the underlying technology hints at a promising future for modding in Oblivion Remastered. MadAborModding hopes to inspire others to expand this project into a fully functional settlement system.
