Ubisoft has just released a new update for Star Wars Outlaws, addressing a variety of bugs and glitches within the core game and its two downloadable content campaigns. Last year, Ubisoft and Massive Entertainment launched the first true open-world game situated in the vast Star Wars universe.
As players take on the role of aspiring scoundrel Kay Vess, they explored the Outer Rim and gathered a motley crew for an ambitious heist in Imperial territory.
Despite Star Wars Outlaws not meeting Ubisoft’s sales goals, the developers at Massive have continued patching the game and providing support through updates and story expansions. The inaugural post-launch DLC known as Wild Card launched in November, featuring Kay reuniting with Lando Calrissian during an intense Sabacc tournament. The second DLC, A Pirate’s Fortune, had Kay facing the notorious Captain Hondo Ohnaka earlier this May. Numerous smaller update patches have also been delivered to enhance the game’s performance.
An update released on June 24 corrects multiple bugs and glitches, including issues where players experienced problems with weapon ammo after saves, and were unable to enter low cover in specific areas. Accessibility and UI refinements were also included in this patch, along with fixes for various questlines.
The future of Star Wars Outlaws remains uncertain, compounded by the game underperforming and Ubisoft reporting financial setbacks following its launch. The game is being ported to the Nintendo Switch 2 set for release on September 4, yet a sequel appears unlikely unless a considerable uptick in sales occurs.
Keep an eye out for any additional updates for Star Wars Outlaws from Ubisoft.
