Xbox Emulator Developers Refute Claims of Collaboration with Microsoft

The team behind the Xbox emulator Xenia publicly denies rumors suggesting its collaboration with Microsoft to bring Xbox games to PC.

Microsoft has kept a close watch on the industry, often competing with heavyweights like Apple and Nvidia. Meanwhile, in the gaming sphere, speculation around the future of Xbox’s hardware continues with hints at a new handheld device soon to be announced.

Recent rumors suggested that Microsoft was partnering with Xenia, an Xbox 360 emulator, to enhance gaming on PC. However, the Xenia team has strongly denied these claims via their Discord channel. Contributor Jebobs stated, “The Xenia (and Xenia Canary) team is by no means associated with, nor working alongside Microsoft in any capacity.” They also pointed out that Microsoft has the resources to develop its own emulator, negating any need for collaboration.

Furthermore, Xenia emphasizes its commitment to legal emulation practices both in development and within its community. Echoing similar sentiments, developer ZolaKluke voiced skepticism regarding the rumored partnership, questioning the authenticity of the claims and reinforcing their independence.

In conclusion, while speculation about Xbox’s next steps persists, the Xenia team has decisively stated they are not involved with Microsoft, indicating that any future developments regarding Xbox emulation will be independently led.
