The critically acclaimed MMO, Final Fantasy 14, faced a variety of challenges this year. Director Naoki Yoshida, commonly known as Yoshi-P, openly acknowledged the decline in service quality during a recent livestream. He expressed regret over the issues players have encountered, stating, > “I’ve been feeling that our quality of service has declined recently, I am very sorry for that… There’s been too many bugs that we’ve needed to have an emergency maintenance or a hotfix for.”
Yoshida’s comments reflected concerns around various ongoing server issues, alongside the game’s delayed updates and a mix of frustrating experience for many players.
In recent months, the game has dealt with DDoS attacks, a problematic graphical overhaul, and bugs that drastically altered gameplay experiences. Yoshida stated, > “It feels like we got used to things a bit too much and got comfortable.”
Despite these challenges, Yoshida indicated a commitment to improve service quality and address long-standing technical problems, aiming to enhance player engagement moving forward.
