Dune: Awakening Adapts Its Endgame to Address Player Feedback: 'We Aim to Keep PvE Players Engaged'

Certain regions in Dune: Awakening's deep desert will now allow players to enjoy PvE content without the risk of unwanted PvP encounters.

In response to player complaints, Funcom has decided to modify certain areas of the deep desert in Dune: Awakening to convert them into PvE zones. This change aims to ensure that players can explore these regions without the anxiety of unexpected PvP confrontations.

During a recent AMA, Creative Director Joel Bylos disclosed these updates, emphasizing that they want to make the endgame content accessible to all players, particularly those less interested in PvP. Bylos stated, “Our goal is not to force PvE players to interact with a PvP system that they may have no interest in.”

These adjustments signal an intention to enhance the gameplay experience for everyone, making sure that even those who prefer solo gameplay have opportunities to engage with the endgame content without the constant threat of conflict. Additionally, Bylos reaffirmed that while changes concerning PvP mechanics are forthcoming, the core concept of the Deep Desert will remain intact.
