Nvidia's New Driver Release Enhances Support for Multiple Graphics Cards

Nvidia's latest 572.16 driver is now available, providing significant updates for a range of graphics cards including RTX 20, 30, 40, and 50 series.

Nvidia’s Latest 572.16 Driver

The anticipation built up before the arrival of Nvidia’s RTX 5080 and RTX 5090 graphics cards has been palpable. With their recent launch, Nvidia also unveiled an update to its GeForce driver, version 572.16, catering not just to the newest GPUs but also enhancing performance for the RTX 20, 30, and 40-series cards.

This driver introduces DLSS 4 Multi Frame Generation for 75 titles, substantially optimizing frame rates for those using the latest RTX 50-series and improving frame generation for 40-series cards as well. Nvidia has refined its frame generation methodology, reported to reduce VRAM usage and boost execution speed, providing gamers with a smoother gaming experience.

Notably, older-gen gamers with RTX 20 and 30-series cards can look forward to enhancements in ray reconstruction, super resolution (currently in beta), and DLAA (also in beta), ensuring that even they can benefit from the latest improvements.

Furthermore, the driver update is designed to facilitate in-game frame generation overrides, allowing for newer models of frame generation without necessitating specific in-game integration. Additional improvements include a notable upgrade to Video Super Resolution (VSR), which is now more resource-efficient.

Important Features of the 572.16 Driver Update:

  • DLSS 4 Support: Available for 75 games
  • Enhanced Frame Generation: More efficient for earlier models like RTX 20 and 30
  • Improved VSR Capabilities: Less GPU resource consumption at higher quality settings

For those fortunate enough to own the RTX 5080 and 5090, a feature labeled Smooth Motion allows for driver-level frame interpolation, enhancing gaming performance in titles lacking official support.

With improvements that cater to both current and previous generations of graphics cards, this latest driver is a significant step forward for Nvidia and its users.
