In a recent interaction, the Skyblivion development team had the opportunity to visit Bethesda’s headquarters. The spontaneous visit allowed them to spend an entire day discussing modding, game development, and their passions for titles like Oblivion.
“There’s a lot of passion and love in that company.”
“I was gonna go to Boston for Pax East,” shares Rebelzize, project lead for Skyblivion. “When I go there for work, I also take a few days of vacation, and this year, I was going to go to Washington and New York. Washington is kind of close to Bethesda, so I just asked, like, ‘Hey, I’m going to be in the area. Could we come and say hello?’”
This friendly approach led to a warm reception from Bethesda, revealing just how much the team at Bethesda values community and collaboration with modders. Rebelzize mentioned, “They were fantastic. I didn’t see a single person that didn’t look like they absolutely loved being there. I spoke to a lot of people that worked on Oblivion, that worked on Skyrim, and that worked on Fallout.”
This engagement highlights Bethesda’s supportive nature towards modders, making it a unique experience in the gaming industry, not just for the Skyblivion team but for the modding community at large.
