Players have uncovered a peculiar exploit in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, which permits them to summon any in-game item without restrictions. This Autobuild Sharing exploit is part of a series of glitches that have resulted in astonishing moments within the game.
The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom was made available by Nintendo on May 12, 2023, as the sequel to 2017’s acclaimed Zelda: Breath of the Wild. The narrative begins with Link being separated from Zelda after Ganondorf’s return beneath Hyrule Castle, resulting in him sustaining a severe arm injury. Thankfully, Rauru replaces Link’s arm, enabling him to harness ancient Zonai powers such as Ultrahand and Recall.
Two years following its Nintendo Switch launch, Tears of the Kingdom released a Nintendo Switch 2 Edition, which accompanied Breath of the Wild, allowing players to enjoy both titles with enhanced visual quality and 60 frames per second.
This new version also integrates a Zelda Notes app featuring the promising Autobuild Sharing capability.
Furthermore, reports indicate that players, including users like Formal-Code2341 and CanYouPetTheDog, have leveraged the Autobuild Sharing exploit utilizing QR codes to summon packs of Epona and dogs. The exploit even permits summons of multiple versions of the game’s antagonist, Ganondorf, exemplifying the absurdity of the current situation.
A player known as Aster______ clarified the exploit’s viability is due to an Autobuild editing website, which provides access to save files and the ability to manipulate which in-game assets are deployable. When this is introduced to a modified Switch, players can perform a local save transfer to an unmodified Switch and subsequently transfer to the Nintendo Switch 2 Edition to access the modified Autobuild.
Players express surprise over Nintendo’s lack of an Autobuild Sharing verification mechanism to detect modified and illicit cheats in Tears of the Kingdom. Nonetheless, caution is advised, given Nintendo may respond to the exploit if it proliferates.
