Developer of 'Rematch' Updates on Future Crossplay Features

Sloclap, the studio behind 'Rematch,' addresses the disappointment regarding the absence of crossplay at launch, emphasizing its importance for future updates.

Sloclap’s inaugural sports game, Rematch, has launched without crossplay, disappointing many fans who were hopeful for the feature. However, Sloclap has confirmed that crossplay support is a priority for future updates. The online soccer simulation game appears to be well-suited for crossplay, though it wasn’t feasible at launch due to unforeseen technical difficulties.

There is substantial enthusiasm surrounding the developer’s transition into sports gaming. Although Rematch was released on day one with Xbox Game Pass support, the lack of crossplay functionality dampened excitement for some players. Sloclap is currently working on addressing this issue and has promised updates as they make progress.

In a June 19 blog post, the studio acknowledged the shortcomings in communication regarding the absence of crossplay and guaranteed that the feature is their “absolute highest priority” moving forward.

“We did our utmost to include crossplay at launch, but ran into unexpected technical issues that set us back.”

Additionally, Sloclap is focusing on improving performance and resolving ongoing lag and synchronization issues while also planning new features and game modes for the future. Despite no confirmed timeline for crossplay, the developers are prioritizing its implementation as they progress.
