Hunt: Showdown 1896 Temporarily Taken Offline Due to Serious Update Issues

Crytek faced significant challenges after the recent update for Hunt: Showdown 1896, prompting them to revert changes and make the game unavailable for a day.

Crytek has found itself in hot water following the recent 2.4 update for Hunt: Showdown 1896, which has caused numerous server issues.

After launching the update, players began flooding the forums with complaints, particularly about server stability and difficulties purchasing in-game items like Blood Bonds. In response, Crytek took the drastic step of pulling all game servers offline in order to fix the problems, promising updates as they worked.

Over eight hours later, the servers were restored on Steam, but the new update was not.

As noted by Crytek, “After exhausting all possible solutions, we have decided to revert the game back to Update 2.3 to restore stability and will be monitoring stability.” Until the stability can be confirmed, the 2.4 update is on hold, with no date confirmed for its return.

To make amends for the inconvenience caused, the studio has pledged that players affected by the update will receive compensatory items and 10,000 Hunt dollars as a show of gratitude for their patience. However, seasoned players voiced that this doesn’t fix their frustrations, particularly the need to download large amounts of data multiple times in such a short period.

Overall, many users responded by leaving negative reviews on Steam, citing dissatisfaction with the update and poor communication during this downtime.
