No Wall-Running or Jetpacks in Call of Duty: Black Ops 7, Activision Confirms

Activision clarifies that the upcoming Call of Duty title will not feature wall-running or jetpacks, despite prior speculation.

Activision has officially stated that Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 will not include wall-running or jetpacks, contradicting earlier leaks. Recent revelations about the game emerged during the Xbox Games Showcase, where it was unveiled, along with a cinematic trailer revealing characters like David Mason and Raul Menendez.

Although the gameplay details for the multiplayer mode remain undisclosed, Activision’s announcement comes as marketing for Black Ops 7 ramps up, hinting that the game could launch around late October or early November this year.

In a recent episode of the COD Pod, Senior Director of Communications, Stephanie Snowden, emphasized the game’s historical timeline, noting it is set 30 years ahead of Black Ops 3, which showcased wall-running and jetpacks. She confirmed the exclusion of these features by stating, “I can confirm, no wall-running, no jetpacks.”

Many fans may find this disappointing, yet Snowden teased an evolved version of the omnimovement system featured in the previous installment, Black Ops 6. Insiders suggest that while wall-running is off the table, a new mechanic termed ‘wall-jumping’ may be integrated, allowing players to jump off walls but not traverse them as seen in Black Ops 3.

This recent confirmation boosts the credibility of previously circulated rumors and leaks surrounding Black Ops 7, which outlines various new gameplay elements, including updated body shields and the return of favored modes such as Uplink.
