Pokémon GO has officially confirmed the addition of Gold Bottle Caps, but there’s a catch: they’re available exclusively as a reward for purchasing a GO Pass. Players have long awaited the introduction of this item, which proves useful in PvP battles. Earlier this month, the game teased the arrival of this new item with a brief reveal of its image. In the main Pokémon series, Bottle Caps are utilized to enhance Pokémon’s IVs to maximize their potential. Initially introduced in Generation 7, these caps are finally making their way to Pokémon GO, thanks to fan demand.

According to the announcement, players can expect to utilize the Gold Bottle Caps to raise a Pokémon’s HP, Attack, and Defense through Hyper Training. To optimize a Pokémon’s IVs, obtaining just one Gold Bottle Cap suffices, alongside fulfilling the necessary Hyper Training tasks within a year. The Pokémon undergoing training must be a Good Buddy or better to use this item.

Availability: Players can earn Gold Bottle Caps starting June 23 at 10:00 AM until June 29 at 6:00 PM during the Ancient Recovered event, but they will need to purchase the GO Pass Deluxe to access these caps, costing $19.99. Additionally, there’s an expiration date to keep in mind as well; players must utilize the caps before July 6 at 11:59 PM.

Gold Bottle Caps will allow players to choose which stats to enhance for their favorite Pokémon, helping to optimize even those with initially low IVs. Anticipation is high as these caps are rare, likely to be linked to limited events in the future.
