The Creator of Stray and Actor Dave Bautista Collaborate on a Cat Assassin Game

An exciting new project brings together the writer of Stray and wrestler Dave Bautista to develop a game about a cat assassin in a gritty world.

Stray, a unique puzzle-platformer about a cat in a dystopian world, gained popularity in 2022 with a score of 82 in our review. Concern grew when its publisher, Annapurna, faced a collapse in late 2023. Nevertheless, the former writer of Stray is onto new ventures.

Upcoming Game: Cat Assassin
Steve Lerner is moving forward with a new game titled Cat Assassin, developed by Titan1Studios in partnership with Dogbone, which is owned by Dave Bautista. Known for roles like Drax in Guardians of the Galaxy and Glossu Rabban in Dune, Bautista is now branching into the gaming landscape.

The project promises a gritty neo-noir setting where players will embody Hugh, a skilled assassin entangled in various cartels amid a dark cityscape. Combining humor, action, and stealth, Cat Assassin is expected to make waves with a blend of roguelite elements, sending players back to their early days with each defeat.

Further details regarding potential animated adaptations, insights on the franchise’s evolution, and additional games will be shared soon.
