Fallout Shelter Marks 10 Years with Over 230 Million Downloads
Bethesda celebrates a milestone for Fallout Shelter, highlighting its overwhelming success with over 230 million downloads since launch.
Bethesda has revealed remarkable figures surrounding Fallout Shelter to celebrate the game’s tenth anniversary, announcing that it has been downloaded over 230 million times. The game has played a pivotal role in the developer’s legacy since the franchise’s launch in 1997, standing alongside The Elder Scrolls as a cornerstone of the studio.
Fallout Shelter marked a daring new venture from Bethesda with its debut in 2015. It was the first installment in the franchise to showcase life within the iconic Vaults, letting players manage their own Vault as Overseer. The title has also seen success across various platforms, launching on Xbox One in 2017 and subsequently on PS4 and Switch in 2018. Now, Fallout Shelter is commemorating its tenth year alongside this impressive downloads milestone.
Based on Bethesda’s announcement for the tenth anniversary, players can expect exciting rewards, including Lunchboxes, Pet Carriers, and in-game currency known as Nuka during the anniversary celebration starting June 16 and concluding on June 21.
Fallout Shelter continues to flourish with engaging content developed throughout its history, including collaborations with Fallout 4, and the inclusion of new characters from the Fallout TV series, enhancing the game’s universe further.
The anniversary aligns with growing anticipation for news regarding a new entry in the beloved RPG franchise. While a potential Fallout 5 has not yet been officially announced, Todd Howard indicated that it wouldn’t arrive until after The Elder Scrolls 6. Fans eager for more from the Fallout universe have plenty to celebrate as they look ahead.
