Surge in Player Count for The Finals Following Season 7 Launch

The Finals sees a notable increase in player numbers after the release of its latest season on Steam.

The Finals recently experienced a remarkable boost in its player base on Steam, increasing by approximately 10,000 individuals. This surge follows the launch of Season 7 on June 12, which prompted both new and returning players to engage with the unique first-person shooter gameplay.

Initially appearing during The Game Awards as a surprise release, The Finals swiftly gained traction among shooting enthusiasts. Crafted by former DICE developers, the game showcased destructible environments and rapid-paced action, which contributed to its early popularity, with nearly 250,000 players concurrently logged in soon after its debut. Despite a decline in player numbers since that peak, regular seasonal updates continue to entice a segment of the fanbase.

According to data from SteamDB, The Finals peaked at 28,866 players right after the Season 7 update, reflecting a substantial return of players and bringing the current player count to 24,794. The game is also accessible on PS4, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S, which likely witnessed similar increases in active players.

Season 7 introduced a new map named NOZOMI/CITADEL, which is distinctively divided by The Rift, alongside new gadgets and a redesigned battle pass. These additions, along with multiple balance tweaks and bug fixes, aim to enhance the gameplay further.

As anticipation builds for how well The Finals will maintain its renewed vigor post-update, there’s hope it will reclaim its standing among battle royale titles, particularly appealing to those who thrive on multiplayer experiences.
