Doomfist, the tank hero from Overwatch 2, is temporarily removed from competitive play due to a glitch that allows him to exploit his abilities. Players expect a resolution soon.
Doomfist Representation
Overwatch 2 has temporarily disabled Doomfist in competitive play due to a glitch that empowers his Rocket Punch while his ultimate is fully charged. Fans can expect his return once this issue is resolved.
Since Overwatch 2’s debut in October 2022, various heroes have undergone significant changes. Doomfist transitioned from a damage dealer in Overwatch 1 to a tank role.
Bug Details
A bug has led to Doomfist’s temporary suspension in competitive formats. It enabled players to cancel his Meteor Strike early and power up their Rocket Punch while not consuming the ultimate charge, leading to free empowered punches when the cooldown of Power Block resets. Fans have noted this glitch on social media.
Doomfist remains available in Quick Play or Arcade modes, and his disabling doesn’t affect the newly added game mode, Stadium.
Expect a fix soon as Blizzard aims to patch the glitch, likely before the upcoming Season 17 updates, which will commence on June 24 with notable changes including a new map and various balance adjustments.
