Grounded 2 Introduces Arachnophobia Mode for Spider Mounts

The upcoming game Grounded 2 will feature a mode specifically designed to accommodate players with arachnophobia, allowing them to enjoy the game safely even while using spider mounts.

The game Grounded 2 is set to introduce an arachnophobia mode, catering to players who may feel uncomfortable around spiders. This mode aims to address the challenges of having rideable spiders while ensuring the experience remains enjoyable for everyone.

In a recent interview, game director Chris Parker explained the complexities involved in making spider mounts user-friendly for arachnophobes. By applying similar principles as the first game, the team manages to adjust spider-like traits. Players will have a slider feature allowing them to customize the appearance of spiders, potentially simplifying them to almost balloon-like figures.

“We simply modify the models to replace scary features with more approachable designs, ensuring that players feel safe,” Parker mentioned. While balancing aesthetics for all players, including those who aren’t completely arachnophobic, there remains an effort to manage the overall creepiness of spider designs.

Initially set for early access release on July 29, Grounded 2 is available for wishlist on Steam.
