GUM Reflects on Team's Journey to Stage 3 at Austin Major
Yifei 'GUM' Dai discusses the hardships and improvements that led Lynn Vision to secure a spot in the Major's next stage.
Lynn Vision’s coach Yifei “GUM” Dai has been putting in the late hours to guide his team to a remarkable Stage 3 appearance at the Austin Major.
GUM expressed relief about reaching this milestone, stating, “Today is like a relief, no matter the result. If we lost, I could get more sleep. If we won, still more sleep so, great.”
His dedication paid off as Lynn Vision secured wins against competitive teams, achieving a top-16 spot. This marks a significant turnaround from their previous performance at IEM Dallas, where they finished last and struggled under pressure.
GUM emphasized the importance of maintaining focus and effective communication, saying, “When we were under pressure, we moved by our instinct. That’s the main problem we have fixed.”
After achieving their goal, GUM plans to ensure his players remain calm and trusting of their strategies. Looking ahead to Stage 3 against heavyweight teams, he continues to balance intense preparation with much-needed rest.
As GUM sums up, “Just this result will improve Asian CS a lot.”
