Upcoming Civilization 7 Update Promises Enhanced Features Including Large Maps and Workshop Support

Firaxis is set to release a significant update for Civilization 7, introducing new map sizes and improved mod support.

A new update for Civilization 7 is on the horizon, set to roll out on June 17. This update is expected to deliver several highly anticipated features:

  • Large and Huge map sizes, which may demand more from hardware, resulting in slower turn times.
  • New Advanced Game Options, allowing players to choose crisis types and customize AI difficulty.
  • Steam Workshop support for improved modding functionality, along with guidance and examples from developers.
  • New Town Specializations, including the introduction of a Resort Town and upgrades to existing towns.
  • Additional bonuses and beliefs such as 24 new City-State bonuses and 14 new Religious Beliefs.

Bug fixes and quality-of-life improvements are also planned, alongside some unexpected features, set to expand the gameplay experience. Firaxis acknowledges the game’s mixed reception and aims to address various critically noted aspects in future updates. Stay tuned for the detailed patch notes which will be released soon.
