Randy Pitchford Declares Borderlands 4 Will Outshine Its Predecessors
Randy Pitchford, the head of Gearbox, asserts that Borderlands 4 will surpass previous entries in the franchise after analyzing player feedback regarding Borderlands 3.
Randy Pitchford, the head honcho at Gearbox, has made a bold statement regarding the comparisons between Borderlands 3 and its predecessor, Borderlands 2. According to Pitchford, recent Twitter polls have shown that players believe that longer playtimes correlate with game quality.
In his observations, he noted:
“Borderlands 3 seems to engender a meaningful degree more average playtime than Borderlands 2”.
The poll data suggested that the average gameplay for Borderlands 2 was approximately 13 hours and 42 minutes, while Borderlands 3 averaged 18 hours and 48 minutes. This leads Pitchford to conclude that according to the respondents, Borderlands 3 indeed appears to be a superior title.
Pitchford added, “By any standard we’ve thrown at it, we are confident that Borderlands 4 is turning out to be better than Borderlands 3 by every measurement we have, including subjective ones, so that makes us very excited about the launch.”
Pitchford encourages players to keep an open mind, especially regarding the Borderlands 4 minimap, urging fans to:
“Play the game first before passing judgment.”
With the emphasis on evolving gameplay and player experiences, the anticipation for Borderlands 4 continues to grow.
