Lian Li's Hydroshift AIO Cooler: Power Issues Revealed at Computex 2025

Lian Li's new Hydroshift AIO cooler faces power delivery problems on certain motherboards, prompting offers for replacements.

Lian Li’s new Hydroshift AIO cooler made a splash at Computex 2025, showcasing a sleek design along with some ambitious features. However, it has been revealed that this cooler encounters compatibility issues, particularly with various motherboards where it may not receive adequate power from the fan headers. This problem can prevent the device from functioning correctly, affecting the pump and RGB lighting.

To address these issues, Lian Li has confirmed on their support page that some configurations of motherboards might not provide sufficient power to the cooler’s USB connection, which is integral for overall operation. Lian Li states:

“In certain setups, the screen’s USB connection may not be recognized by L-Connect 3 or Device Manager when connected to specific motherboard models. After thorough investigation, we found that this issue is caused by insufficient power delivery from certain CPU_FAN PWM headers.”

This statement emphasizes the crucial role of the motherboard’s fan headers in ensuring the product operates flawlessly. Lian Li advises users to set their fan headers to PWM mode, ideally locking them to 100% RPM for optimal results. For those who use pre-built systems where such BIOS adjustments may not be possible, Lian Li is prepared to provide a replacement circuit board with the necessary adjustments to solve the problem.

In response to these complications, Lian Li’s initiative to streamline installation by minimizing the number of cables required for power and lighting has been appreciated. The Hydroshift AIO cooler is designed to require just one cable connection, making installation simpler and tidier within the PC case.
