Co-op horror games have gained popularity recently with successes like Lethal Company and The Outlast Trials. Blumhouse Games continues this trend with their new title, Eyes of Hellfire.
This multiplayer horror experience tasks players with exploring an abandoned gothic lodge known as the Hellfire club, where they must solve puzzles and navigate treacherous friendships while avoiding malevolent entities. Players can expect to receive action cards to help with various tasks each turn, discovering more powerful cards as they progress.
Each character will have unique traits that affect gameplay, along with secret objectives that encourage betrayal among friends. An example includes a goal called the Curse of the Thief, which involves stealing cards from other characters.
Crucially, the game employs proximity chat, adding a layer of strategy as interactions can go unnoticed, allowing for covert sabotage or scheming. Periodically, players must vote someone off, leading to intense discussions reminiscent of games like Werewolf or Among Us.
With its official launch coming later this year, those eager to experience Eyes of Hellfire can currently download a demo here.
