Sega reveals its latest kart racing installment featuring diverse characters including Horizon's Miku.

At the Summer Game Fest showcase, Sega unveiled a new trailer for Sonic Racing: Crossworlds, a kart racing game featuring characters from across various franchises. This exciting title, launching on September 25, 2025, aims to compete with Mario Kart by incorporating a diverse lineup of racers, including Hatsune Miku, Joker from Persona 5, and Ichiban Kasuga from Like a Dragon.

The trailer not only displays gameplay mechanics but also emphasizes online cross-platform matchmaking, setting it apart from traditional kart racing games. Takashi Iizuka, the head of Sonic Team, confirmed during the presentation that the game is akin to Super Smash Bros. for kart racing enthusiasts. With a host of beloved characters joining Sonic, it’s clear Sega is bringing a fresh twist to the genre, implying that players can look forward to a thrilling experience filled with unique gameplay dynamics.
