At today’s Summer Game Fest, Square Enix celebrated with the announcement of Killer Inn, a new murder mystery action game that allows players to engage in social deduction akin to Mafia and Among Us, but with a whimsical twist featuring e-girls.
This unique experience unfolds in a clandestine castle, undiscovered by maps and satellites, where participants are selected worldwide for a 24-person murder mystery gathering that promises real-life deaths.
Visually appealing aesthetics seem to aid selection into this thrill. The game’s setup is further enriched with a pirate theme, adding a fun twist.
In Killer Inn, players split into two teams: the Lambs, aiming to survive the night, and the Wolves, who are secretly integrated among them as murderers tasked with eliminating the Lambs one by one. To win, the Lambs must either flee the castle or overpower their foes using a variety of weapons scattered throughout the eerie mansion.
However, this isn’t just a blind gameplay; each kill by a Wolf leaves behind clues like hair and fingerprints, allowing the Lambs to deduce the identities of their adversaries. Notably, the game provides each Lamb with detective skills akin to Batman, helping them trace the killers.
In summary, Killer Inn promises to be an eccentric yet engaging gameplay experience with a mix of humor and suspense, and it’s set to enter a closed beta soon on Steam.
