The beloved Scott Pilgrim franchise welcomes a new game titled Scott Pilgrim EX, spearheaded by Tribute Games, who previously delivered the critically acclaimed TMNT: Shredder’s Revenge. This new addition aims to revive the classic brawler genre with modern twists and an all-new story.
The game is being developed with direct oversight from Bryan Lee O’Malley, the original comic author. With nostalgic graphics created by returning artist Paul Robertson, fans can expect an authentic revival of the visuals. Featuring original music by the chiptune band Anamanaguchi, Scott Pilgrim EX is positioned as a successor to the previous titles.
Players will explore a detailed rendition of Toronto, complete with humorous and quirky enemies. The gameplay promises a mix of adventure and light RPG mechanics, allowing for character upgrades through defeating enemies and collecting ‘barf’ and spare change.
While the release is slated for next year, suggestions of upcoming additional projects indicate that Tribute is eager to keep the momentum rolling in the brawler space.
