Intel's Battlemage GPUs Fail While AMD's Market Share Dwindles to 8%

Recent reports reveal that Intel's latest Battlemage graphics cards are struggling while AMD's market share has plummeted to just 8%.

AMD’s market share in the add-in graphics card sector has fallen to a mere 8% in Q1 2025, according to Jon Peddie Research, indicating a significant shift in the gaming GPU market dynamics, where Nvidia has captured 92% share. Meanwhile, Intel’s latest Battlemage GPUs are reported to have very low sales figures, essentially becoming irrelevant in the current landscape.

The data released covers the period ending March 2025, shortly after AMD launched its new Radeon RX 9070 and 9070 XT cards on March 6. So far, only three weeks of sales are reflected in the data.

While both AMD and Nvidia introduced new products, there’s uncertainty about AMD gaining ground in subsequent quarters. Intel’s graphics hardware, particularly the B570 and B580, have not yielded meaningful sales results, suggesting a possible failure of the Battlemage series.

It’s suggested that the influential data for AMD’s new GPUs will emerge more clearly from the Q3 reports later this year. Until then, the landscape raises concerns about Intel’s future in the GPU market as their current offerings appear to have flopped significantly.
