Warner Bros. Games has announced official mod support for Hogwarts Legacy, set to debut with a creator kit on January 30. Players will be able to directly download selected mods from a new section in the game’s main menu, which will be curated through the modding site CurseForge. This marks a significant first for Warner Bros. in supporting modding within its titles.

There are already countless mods available for Hogwarts Legacy, ranging from quality-of-life enhancements to whimsical additions like Thomas the Tank Engine and Shrek. Now, with these developments, the game—having sold over 30 million copies—stands to offer players an even richer experience.

The modding creator kit will be accessible through the Epic Games Store, allowing users from both Steam and Epic versions of the game to enjoy extensive modding capabilities. Warner Bros. states that the creator kit supports the creation of new quests, dungeons, and character enhancements.

Avalanche Software, the studio behind the game, has released a showcase video that includes community favorites such as the intense combat mod called the Dungeon of Doom. It remains to be seen how user-friendly the modding process will be.

The announcement comes on the heels of a period where Hogwarts Legacy has proven to be a golden goose for Warner Bros. Games, further highlighted by the recent resignation of David Haddad and the focus on prioritizing franchises like Batman, Hogwarts Legacy, Mortal Kombat, and Game of Thrones.
