Elden Ring Nightreign Set to Resolve Matchmaking Problems in Upcoming Update

FromSoftware announces new maintenance for Elden Ring Nightreign scheduled to address matchmaking issues.

Summary

  • Elden Ring Nightreign’s servers will go offline for maintenance on June 6 to tackle matchmaking issues.
  • A staggering 3.5 million players engaged with Elden Ring Nightreign within the first five days post-launch.
  • Xbox Series X/S users continue to experience matchmaking troubles even after the June 2 patch.

FromSoftware has stated that Elden Ring Nightreign’s servers will shut down at 1 AM PDT on June 6 for an update designed to resolve matchmaking problems related to Remembrance quests. Elden Ring Nightreign launched on May 30 for various platforms including PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and PC.

Recently, it was revealed that Elden Ring Nightreign achieved remarkable success, bringing in 3.5 million players in just five days from its release. FromSoftware announced this on Twitter on June 3, much to the delight of their player base who are enjoying the game. This announcement followed the news of 2 million copies sold on the first day due to pre-orders and early purchases.

In a recent Twitter post, FromSoftware mentioned the server maintenance aimed to fix Elden Ring Nightreign’s matchmaking issues, specifically for those engaged in Remembrance quests. Unfortunately, some players have reported difficulties launching expeditions tied to active Remembrance quests, halting their progress and preventing them from obtaining rewards. The maintenance procedure is expected to last two hours.

Though the update targets matchmaking concerns, it remains uncertain whether the changes will rectify all issues. Reports indicate that Xbox Series X/S players still face difficulties, particularly when attempting to play alongside friends. Many noted that they could team up with random gamers but struggled with friend connections, causing frustration within the gaming community as players hoped the 1.01.1 update would offer solutions.

Elden Ring Nightreign’s June 2 patch did not resolve these matchmaking issues for Xbox Series X/S, yet it enhanced single-player gameplay. Updated patch notes revealed that solo players would now earn increased rune rewards during expeditions, helping them level up before confronting tougher bosses. Additionally, the patch introduced a reviving capability for players, allowing them a one-time revival per night boss, making gameplay a bit more forgiving.

With an abundance of content to explore and downloadable content (DLC) set for release later in 2025, fans remain hopeful about what the future holds for Elden Ring Nightreign.
