Dune: Awakening Sees Nearly 100,000 Players Before Official Release

The survival MMO Dune: Awakening has already attracted a significant player base during its early access period.

Dune: Awakening, the survival MMO set on the desert planet Arrakis, is currently undergoing a five-day early access phase, commonly referred to as the “head start”. Players who purchased the deluxe or ultimate editions are now experiencing the game before its official launch on June 10.

As it stands, the game has already logged an impressive 100,000 players just hours into the early access. This influx includes players building bases, navigating the terrain, and fending off sandworms in the expansive world of Dune.

Notably, this early start is more than just a beta test; it sets the scene for the full launch, intended to attract an even larger player base once the standard edition becomes available.

However, the initial rush hasn’t been without its problems. Players have reported game crashes and server challenges commonly associated with a new launch. Funcom, the developer, has acknowledged these issues, working diligently to resolve glitches and improve server performance.

As excitement builds for the official launch, many gamers are eager to see how the game will unfold and the kind of player community it will foster. Will you join them on the sands of Arrakis? Learn more about Dune: Awakening guide here and prepare for the adventure ahead!
