Success isn’t always thrilling.
Players of Elden Ring: Nightreign have discovered a technique to ensure that you reach max level before confronting a Nightlord, albeit the method has drawn criticism for its tediousness.
The strategy is straightforward: just avoid jumping into the sticky goo.
Once the final boss of Day 2 is defeated and the ethereal goop appears, instead of progressing into the Spirit Shelter to prepare for the Nightlord fight, players should refrain from entering.
By opening the map, players will find that once the Day 2 boss is down, all Sites of Grace become active. This allows for farming runes by defeating enemies on the map, which provides enough runes to achieve max level.
However, beware: a damaging circle remains in place around the Day 2 boss area, meaning players will sustain damage while farming. Still, it’s manageable—just gather your runes after death to reclaim lost levels.
The downside? This method is quite dull, and it’s easy to foresee a scenario where players drag their feet, much to the annoyance of others in the party who may want to keep things moving.
As for whether FromSoftware might patch this method, it remains uncertain. It seems counterintuitive to the game’s design to let players bypass the time constraints of the battle royale-style death circle.
For those looking to exploit this leveling method, it’s advisable to do so with a full team, to ease the grind for everyone.
