During the June 4 State of Play event, NetherRealm Studios and Digital Eclipse revealed the Mortal Kombat Legacy Kollection, a compilation that features various versions of the initial four Mortal Kombat installments along with other franchise entries. Although an exact release date is still pending, it is projected to launch in 2025.

Originally debuted in August 1992 by Midway in arcades, the first Mortal Kombat made its transition to consoles, including the Sega Genesis and SNES, the following year. Its thrilling gameplay and infamous Fatalities contributed to its popularity and controversy, establishing the game as a key player in the inception of the ESRB rating system. The franchise’s reputation for graphic violence has consistently attracted players, making it a strong contender in fighting games.

Expect more titles to be disclosed closer to the release date. The Mortal Kombat Legacy Kollection will also feature interviews with the development team and exclusive marketing materials, aiming to delight long-time fans as well as newcomers.
