When modder LukeYui launched the Nightreign expansion for Elden Ring, he quickly set about creating a mod that would enable two-player co-op, similar to the beloved Seamless Co-op mod he previously developed. In less than a day after the mod’s release, Yui had constructed a functional prototype, allowing players to engage in duos alongside solo or three-player matches.
“There’s also potential for a player cap increase in the future.” — LukeYui
Yui’s work offers significant flexibility for players, allowing for custom gameplay experiences without needing to connect through official matchmaking servers, thereby avoiding anti-cheat restrictions.
The launch of this new mod seems to indicate a bright future for cooperative gameplay within the Elden Ring community, as it opens the door for players to enjoy moments together that may be previously overlooked by the original game design.
