Witcher 3 Set to Receive Final Patch with Cross-Platform Mod Support

CD Projekt announces an upcoming patch for The Witcher 3, enhancing mod capabilities across major gaming platforms.

CD Projekt is not done with The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt just yet. The studio has announced plans for a new patch aimed at improving the modding experience for this popular title. This upcoming “one more patch” will introduce cross-platform mod support for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S through mod.io.

“Creating, sharing, and enjoying mods will be easier and more accessible, allowing players on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S to share a modding ecosystem,” CD Projekt stated in their announcement.

However, there will be some restrictions for console users. A mod.io account linked to a CD Projekt Red account will be necessary to access the cross-platform mod support, and not all mods may be available across every platform.

Console users will not have the ability to create mods; that functionality will remain exclusive to PC users. While using CD Projekt’s Redkit modding tools is not mandatory for cross-platform mods, it is encouraged.

This announcement has generated a positive response among Witcher 3 fans, as mods can significantly enhance a game’s longevity. The Witcher 3 has recently surpassed sales of 60 million copies, continuing its legacy since its initial release in 2015.
