Ubisoft Celebrates a Decade of Teasing Splinter Cell Fans with a New Teaser, but It's Not the Right Image
Ubisoft has once again reminded fans of Splinter Cell about the stalled remake with yet another vague teaser, this time misidentifying the source image.
The season for the Summer Game Fest is rapidly approaching, and that means Ubisoft is once again teasing Splinter Cell fans. Sadly, for almost four years, since the announcement of the remake, they have faced nothing but disappointment.
“Splinter Cell fans are hopeful for a possible update on the remake in June,” I mentioned back in April.
In June 2024, however, absolutely nothing was revealed. Instead, news circulated regarding a “Splinter Cell” animated series on Netflix that wouldn’t feature the original voice actor, Michael Ironside. Additionally, the long-awaited movie featuring Tom Hardy was officially canceled.
The remake idea was first introduced in December 2021, but within a year the project was undergoing major rewrites to appeal to modern audiences, followed by the departure of the project director, causing fans scepticism.
Recently, Ubisoft shared a new teaser featuring Sam Fisher, but a sharp-eyed fan pointed out that the image was actually from Pandora Tomorrow, not Chaos Theory as claimed. This blunder has led to increased frustration within the fanbase.
As Ubisoft keeps fans on edge with these teasers, many worry if they genuinely have any plans to actualize a remake for this beloved series or if it’s merely a prolonged joke at their expense.
