World of Warcraft's Winds of Mysterious Fortune May Return Soon

The famous event could be making a comeback based on new findings from the game's public test realm.

Summary

  • The Winds of Mysterious Fortune event appears in the World of Warcraft public test realms.
  • This event might take place from July 17 to August 14, contingent on Patch 11.1.7.
  • Events listed on public test realms may change before their official launch.

The popular Winds of Mysterious Fortune event in World of Warcraft could soon return, as indicated by data found on the public test realm (PTR) for the coming Patch 11.1.7. This updated data reveals that players might enjoy the event during the summer, though the dates are not final.

The Winds of Mysterious Fortune is a recurring event that enables players to swiftly level up secondary characters and earn reputation points with various factions. Following the Nightfall update, this event was reintroduced for the initial four weeks of the Patch 11.1.5 cycle, running from April 22 to May 20. This event grants players a 20% increase in experience points and a 100% to 200% increase in reputation points for most factions in Dragonflight and The War Within. Additionally, satchels provided during the event include experience potions, gear, and other helpful items.

Given these signs, the anticipated return of the Winds of Mysterious Fortune could enhance the player’s experience, especially as it aligns with the upcoming Turbulent Timeways event, providing further opportunities for character leveling.

While specific dates for Patch 11.1.7 remain uncertain, the World of Warcraft roadmap for 2025 suggests it could go live in late spring to early summer. However, it’s essential to note that events often listed on the PTR do not always reach the live servers, so players should manage their expectations accordingly. Patch 11.1.7 is also expected to contain additional story content related to Xal’atath, the primary antagonist in The War Within.
