Guild Laws in Dune: Awakening Will Shape Player Experience

Player guilds in Dune: Awakening will have the authority to enact significant laws, affecting gameplay dynamics and PvP interactions.

With the highly anticipated release of Dune: Awakening, players will find themselves in a world where their guilds can implement game-altering laws. This feature is heavily influenced by the fictional Landsraad, a council formed by the great Houses in the Dune universe.

In the game, 25 lesser Houses will select allegiance to one of two dominant factions, House Atreides or House Harkonnen, over each week. The side that secures the majority of these votes will control the realm, along with all in-game worlds for the subsequent week.

Key Features:

  • Player guilds will undertake missions to support these Houses in hopes of swaying their votes.
  • For the winning faction, laws can drastically reduce costs and enhance gameplay dynamics.
    • For example, one law might reduce crafting costs or enhance damage outputs.
  • The most notorious law, The Right of Salvage, may lead to losing all gear upon death in PvP situations.

These laws will create an engaging and competitive atmosphere where immersion and strategy will play critical roles in the game. The launch is set for June 10, with early access beginning on June 5 for premium pre-orders.
