Tamriel Rebuilt Team Unfazed by Potential Morrowind Remaster from Bethesda
The team behind Tamriel Rebuilt, a long-standing mod for Morrowind, has recently released its latest expansion, adding the capital city of Narsis—a significant addition to the game after its long history of development.
According to senior developer Cicero, the team’s momentum has seen an increase in speed since 2018. He confidently projected that the entire project could be completed as soon as 2035, stating, “Just by projection, I think we’ll be done in 2035.”
Grumbling Vomit, a creature animator for the mod, shares this sentiment, suggesting they could finish all of mainland Morrowind could be done within this decade. Despite their progress, questions loom about the impact of a possible Morrowind remaster from Bethesda that might fracture their player base.
Cicero remarked on the topic of a remaster, stating, “Modernising Morrowind would just ruin the game entirely.” The team remains optimistic, feeling that Oblivion Remastered has actually helped their work gain attention, bolstered by their recent launch coinciding with the remaster’s release.
With passionate support from the community, the developers of Tamriel Rebuilt aim to complete their vision for Morrowind while hoping that future official projects will harmonize rather than compete.
