Yuri Lowenthal Reveals He Won't Return for Persona 4 Remake: 'I Even Begged, But They Don't Want Me'

The voice actor confirms he won't reprise his role in the anticipated remake of Persona 4, indicating that Atlus is moving in a different direction.

Bad news for fans of Persona 4’s renowned character Yosuke Hanamura: Yuri Lowenthal has shared on Bluesky that despite his earnest efforts, he will not be returning for the role in the upcoming Persona 4 Remake. Moreover, it appears that Atlus is indeed preparing a remake of Persona 4, following the recent success of Persona 3’s remake.

Lowenthal’s statement reads, “For those who keep asking, no, I will not be returning as Yosuke for the Persona 4 remake. I asked. Maybe I even begged, but they don’t want me to come back.”

This situation highlights a significant shift for Atlus, as they seem intent on moving forward with new voice talent for their projects. Given that the original Persona 4 voice cast had generally received favorable reviews, the decision to replace Lowenthal raises eyebrows among fans and critics alike.
