Another Delay for Cities: Skylines 2's Bridges and Ports Expansion

The anticipated Bridges and Ports expansion for Cities: Skylines 2 has been postponed again, now targeting a late 2025 release.

Cities: Skylines 2 has encountered yet another setback as the release of the Bridges and Ports expansion has been pushed back to late 2025. Originally expected in 2024, this expansion’s delay follows a series of missteps for the game since its launch.

Initially, players were excited about the content roadmap which included an asset pack and this expansion. However, the asset pack known as Beach Properties was poorly received, prompting Colossal Order and publisher Paradox to issue refunds and apologies to the community.

After delaying the Bridges and Ports expansion to enhance the base game, the developers have now assessed their progress and concluded that further polishing is needed. Colossal Order stated, “After reviewing the content ourselves and sharing it with our early access group, we’ve received consistent feedback: the bridges are super exciting, and the port works well, but there are aspects of the expansion that are not as polished as they could be.”

The developers anticipate releasing the expansion in the fourth quarter of this year, but the lack of specifics raises concerns about the timeline. Players are hopeful the final product will meet expectations, especially with a free update expected soon on June 11, which aims to provide a preview of the upcoming expansion’s content.
