The hit title Space Marine 2 has significantly boosted interest in other Warhammer games. Mike Knight, Narrative Lead at Fatshark (the team behind Darktide), noted a clear uptick in player interest after the release of Space Marine 2. “It makes sense; people enjoy a game and then seek out others that provide similar experiences,” he said.
Anton Emelianov, Brand Manager at Owlcat Games (creator of Rogue Trader), echoed Knight’s sentiment, stating, “A success in one of the Warhammer titles often creates a ripple effect, leading to increased interest in others. We noticed a surge in players wanting to explore the Warhammer universe further when Space Marine 2 launched.”
Both developers also recognized the rich lore of Warhammer as a fertile ground for diverse game genres, with fans eager for more than just combat-focused experiences.
Additionally, during the Warhammer Skulls event, Darktide and Rogue Trader exhibited crossover features, heightening their collective appeal during a special promotional period.
