Splitgate 2 CEO Issues Apology for Server Issues Following Open Beta Launch

After the troubled launch of the Splitgate 2 open beta, the CEO expressed regret over the server outages and promised swift resolutions.

The Splitgate 2 servers were taken offline just hours after the beta began, and they are still not back online.

CEO Ian Proulx of 1047 Games stated in a video message, “Obviously, this is not the spot we thought we’d be in 24 hours after the launch of the beta. We believed we would be in great shape by now, and that is not the case. We are truly sorry. This is something we’ve worked on for years, and I have been personally involved for 10 years since college.”

Proulx continued, “We are committed to making this the best game possible, focusing on getting these servers up as quickly as we can. We are working around the clock.”

The issues first noted shortly after the beta launch included various slowdowns, struggles with matchmaking, and players finding themselves stuck in broken game states. To mitigate problems, the developers opted for a safe downtime to address these issues efficiently.

This beta will transition directly into the full release, so purchases made in-game will be honored once the servers return. Proulx reassured players, “All skins you’ve acquired or purchased will be recognized in our system; you have not lost anything.”

While a timeline for the relaunch hasn’t been provided yet, more updates on the situation are expected soon.
