CDPR Executive Shares Insights on Witcher Author Sapkowski's Persona
CD Projekt Red's co-CEO reveals the true nature of Witcher author Andrzej Sapkowski, challenging the portrayal of him as a grumpy figure.
A Mixed Persona
Andrzej Sapkowski, renowned for his Witcher novels, has often been perceived as a curmudgeonly figure. Yet, CD Projekt’s co-CEO Adam Badowski sheds light on a different side of the author. He remarked, “He’s a very intelligent guy, and as a writer, he created kind of a persona. In person, he’s a great guy. Very knowledgeable.”
This revelation contradicts the public image of Sapkowski, who often expresses disdain for the gaming industry and the Witcher games.
“He was very clear about what is his area, and what is just licensed… He’s all about the books.”

As CDPR embraces their relationship with Sapkowski, they continue to honor the roots of the Witcher universe while looking ahead to its future.
