You can’t discuss competitive gaming today without mentioning Hall effect (HE) technology. Scuf has recognized this trend and is finally adding this enhancement to its flagship controllers. Both the Scuf Envision and Envision Pro controllers featuring Hall effect technology will be available from May 29, 2025. If you’re looking to purchase directly from Scuf, you’ll have access to the latest models first, while other retailers will introduce their HE stock in August.
Previously, many gamers expressed dissatisfaction over the lack of HE technology in Scuf’s controllers, especially considering the high price point of around $180, which now sees its value justified as it adopts this sought-after technology.
The primary appeal of Hall effect technology is its ability to prevent stick drift, thanks to the use of magnets that don’t require physical contact to measure movement, offering greater accuracy and longevity than traditional mechanical methods. Scuf aims to enhance the user experience by integrating this technology even though mechanical components still exist within the system.
Corsair, which owns Scuf, emphasized the extensive time spent perfecting this feature, ensuring it has reached maturity before release. The big move towards providing HE technology in their main controllers aims to solidify Scuf’s place at the forefront of competitive gaming peripherals, providing not just quality feel and build, but also advanced functionality, including multiple programmable buttons for a better gaming experience.
