Nvidia's Latest Driver Boosts Performance for RTX 5080 and 5090 Laptops

The new Nvidia driver introduces a performance enhancement for RTX 5080 and 5090 laptops by fixing previous issues with GPU power management.

If you own an RTX 50-series gaming laptop, you’re likely experiencing a slight increase in performance due to a recent fix in the latest Nvidia driver. This performance boost comes with the 576.52 GeForce Game Ready Driver, which was released just days ago.

According to Nvidia (via VideoCardz), there was a prior issue where the GeForce RTX 50 series laptops could not achieve their maximum rated Total Graphics Power (TGP). The fix allows these GPUs to operate at their highest potential, enhancing gaming performance significantly.

Previously, GPUs like the RTX 5090, which is rated at a base TGP of 150 W but can push up to 175 W when using Dynamic Boost, often fell short of this power draw during gameplay. This issue has now been addressed with the new driver, permitting the GPUs to reach their maximum capabilities without the previous throttling.

However, it’s essential to note that achieving these specs can depend significantly on the laptop’s design and thermal management. For instance, laptops like the Razer Blade 16 2025 may struggle to hit these TGP ratings due to their compact design.

Early reports suggest positive outcomes from this driver update, indicating it might indeed enhance overall gaming performance for the RTX 50-series laptops.
