Nvidia's DGX Spark Unveils GPU Equivalent to RTX 5070
Nvidia's DGX Spark mini-PC features an RTX 5070-like GPU, revealed at Computex, but not designed for gaming.
Nvidia has officially introduced the DGX Spark, a compact desktop designed for AI enthusiasts and developers. Although detailed specs were initially scarce, Computex has revealed that it houses a GPU akin to the RTX 5070.
This GPU, internally referred to as the GB10, features 6,144 CUDA cores, matching the RTX 5070 in this regard. However, despite sharing Nvidia’s Blackwell architecture, the design of the GB10 diverges from being a traditional gaming GPU due to its limited memory bandwidth of just 273 GB/s, in contrast to the RTX 5070’s 672 GB/s.
The DGX Spark sports an impressive 128 GB of LPDDR5x, integrating it with the Grace CPU and Blackwell GPU for AI tasks instead of gaming functionalities. There are speculations about the 224 W power consumption required for this setup, lower than the 300 W TGP of the RTX 5070, indicating a lower clock speed.
Nvidia claims the GB10 can achieve 1,000 AI TOPS, showcasing its prowess in AI processing, albeit it is unlikely to support standard gaming operations due to its unique operating system constraints.
