Bring out your dead.
We have been following the development of the co-op horror game Blight: Survival for a considerable time, dating back to a gameplay reveal trailer in 2022 showing filthy knights battling even filthier zombies. Recently, the developers shared insights into the Marshlands biome’s development, aptly titled, “Mud, rot, and the weight of a dying world.”
The description reads, “The Marshlands were quiet, but never peaceful. The locals survived on whatever the waters offered, but most of it was taken by those in power. Peat-digging, once a way to earn a living, became a brutal curse. Strange growths began to spread across the land, marking the start of a transformation that left both the land and its people unrecognizable.”
Blight: Survival is set in an alternate 14th century plagued by zombies, banditry, and an unusual increase in thatched-roof cottages catching fire. The Marshlands embody this bleakness, with corpses hung from trees, crows feeding on the dead, and a haunting ruin visible across the water.
The game plans to launch supporting up to four players in co-op with traditional monetization and downloadable content. Players can expect a mix of PvE gameplay, allowing for solo play and options for stealth and archery alongside melee combat.
