Arrowhead Studios to Fully Fund Their Next Game Independently After Helldivers 2

Arrowhead's CEO expresses gratitude for support received and confirms future projects will be self-funded, following the success of Helldivers 2.

After the tumultuous journey of Helldivers 2, Arrowhead Studios has decided to take control of its future by self-funding their next title. CEO Shams Jorjani mentioned, “There would be no Helldivers if it wasn’t for them,” acknowledging the support they received along the way.

This move comes after Helldivers 2’s overwhelming success, which saw a peak of over 450,000 players on Steam during its launch. Shams commented that their next game would be entirely self-funded, allowing them greater freedom in creative decisions. He noted, “The next game is 100% funded by ourselves so we’ll call 100% of those shots.”

In a response to some past issues they encountered with Sony’s PlayStation Network, which included removal from various stores, Shams noted that despite these hiccups, there are no lingering hard feelings. He stated, “Playstation are great. There would be no Helldivers if it wasn’t for them. We’re open to working with them again in the future.”

Overall, Arrowhead Studios is looking ahead to a bright future, focusing on developing exciting concepts as they embrace the support of their community.
